The Gender Alliance of the South Sound sponsors at least seven support meetings each month. In Tacoma, G.A.S.S. meets every SECOND, FOURTH & FIFTH Friday and SECOND Tuesday of each month at 7:00PM in Tacoma. We meet at the Rainbow Center, located at 741 St. Helens Street, in downtown Tacoma (next door to Club Silverstone). Meetings go until approximately 9:00PM. Parking is generally handy along St. Helens, particularly north from the meeting location, or just around the corner on Market Street.
Map/Directions.Regular meetings generally involve a bit of socializing, and a discussion of topics of interest. Snacks are usually available. Donate what you can. $5.00 - $10.00 donation is suggested. The confidentiality and privacy of all attendees is always respected. Often, after regular meetings, members of the group gather at a local restaurant to continue our conversations. Guests, significant others, etc. are welcome to accompany us, as well. On months that have a FIFTH Friday, G.A.S.S. presents its "Fifth Friday Potluck", a more casual gathering that also usually takes place at the Rainbow Center. Everyone is welcome. Bring a dish to share if you can.

Sign up for the Yahoo Group to keep informed of these special events, and everything else going on with G.A.S.S.. Significant others, family and friends are also very welcome at any of our meetings. Additionally, G.A.S.S. offers dedicated meetings strictly for our "SOFFAs" (significant others, family, friends and allies) upon request. Please contact us if you would like to attend one of these meetings. Such meetings are designed to address the special concerns of those who are are trying to cope with and understand why their spouses, boyfriends, girlfriends, child or friend would want to crossdress or actually permanently change their gender. This group is generally facilitated by a person also dealing with these issues but also ready to provide support and education for those seeking to better understand the many forms of transgenderism. We do ask that the transgendered person NOT attend these meetings, so that our SOFFAs may feel free to discuss these issues in a less inhibited manner. Additionally, a Yahoo Group has been set up to assist with SOFFA issues. You can join this group at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/GASS-SOFFA/. If you have any questions or concerns, just e-mail us at the link below. Come on now... get dressed... and get on down here!
